MANNY MUNIZ
Manny Muniz retired from the Office of the California State Fire Marshal in 1993 where he was the head of the Regulations Unit. He was responsible for the research, development and adoption of all regulations and standards of the State Fire Marshal for the State of California. He successfully presented hundreds of code changes for approval before the California Building Standards Commission on behalf of the State Fire Marshal.
Manny also served as the Fire Marshal Liaison for the California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) and was a member of the Commission's Coordinating Council. He also co-chaired the Fire and Life Safety Building Standards Advisory Board.

Fire Department Experience
Fire service experience includes eleven years in fire suppression with the Sacramento Fire Department where his duties included being the first Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Coordinator for the City of Sacramento Fire Department.
He also was an Emergency Medical Services (EMT) community college instructor and was a member of the Governors state task force on EMT curriculum development. Manny holds a degree in Fire Protection Technology and has been certified by the State Board of Fire Services as a Master Instructor. He also holds several teaching credentials from the State of California.
